The Battle of Marawi

As a graduating Cadet of the Philippine National Police Academy, I had always envisioned myself in the uniform of the PNP.

We were privileged to have various speakers who shared their experiences with us, including PCol Rex Arvin T Malimban, his talk on the Marawi Liberation was something I will never forget.

He shared his first-hand experience in the war, and I was captivated by his words while he described the horrors of the war, the danger, the fear, and the uncertainty, and how his team fought tirelessly to liberate the city and restore peace.

His stories of bravery and selflessness left a profound impact on me, making me realize that being a police officer was not just about enforcing the law and maintaining order but putting your life on the line to protect the community and being prepared for any dangerous situation that could come your way, even if it meant risking your life.

His talk inspired me to pursue this career and to be the best police officer that I could be, and his emphasis on the importance of honing our skills through training was something that resonated with me.

While listening to his words, I felt a sense of responsibility and duty to my fellow citizens, and this reminded me that being a police officer was not just a job but a calling, so I am willing to put in the hard work and dedication needed to serve and protect my community.

His words of wisdom also made me realize that the PNP is not just an organization but a brotherhood. Police Colonel Malimban and his team worked together in Marawi and had each other's backs, which portrays that as police officers, we must be able to trust our fellow officers and work as a team.

In conclusion, his talk was truly inspiring. It gave me a new perspective on being a police officer and made me even more determined to pursue this career.
